About Us

Cones Repair Service Inc., DBA Dan Cone Group is a commercial food equipment sales and service facility. Corporate headquarters are located in Moline, Illinois with strategically located branch offices in central Illinois and eastern Iowa to provide superior service in the eastern half of Iowa, western and central Illinois. The services provided by Dan Cone Group include installation, in and out of warranty service and parts distribution for a variety of hot and cold food equipment manufacturers. In addition, Cone sells and services a complete line of commercial refrigeration and beverage equipment including ice machines and dispensers along with new booster heaters, garbage disposers, and refurbished used equipment.

History

In 1966, Bill Cone founded the company that would bear his name after spending 20 years with the local utility company where he received extensive training in technical and management skills. Incorporated as Cone Repair Service in 1968, it has grown from a one-man service truck into a corporation with four locations serving eastern Iowa, western, and central Illinois. In 1997, Bill retired and sold the business to his son Dan, who joined the firm in 1975 right out of technical school to help with the growing business. In 2004, Cone became one of the first service agencies recognized by CFESA, the national trade association for commercial food equipment service, meeting industry requirements and becoming a Certified Company. In 2005, Dan changed the company name to the Dan Cone Group to reflect the quality team of professionals that has been assembled over the years.

WHAT IS CFESA?

The Commercial Food Equipment Service Association is a trade association of professional service and parts distributors. Founded in 1963, CFESA members promote the highest standards of professional service. With over 450 members representing all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, and Australia, our members stock OEM parts – the best for any equipment – with access to an outline inventory of millions of parts.

Dan Cone Group is a CFESA Certified Company Certification

CFESAs Company Certification program is designed to raise the bar of quality in the foodservice industry and to distinguish the companies that provide superior service. The certification has requirements in five areas including financial, education and training, industry participation, industry relations and professionalism. These requirements were carefully created to enable high quality companies of any size to achieve CFESA Certified Company status. CFESA does require each company to become re-certified after 3 years of the orginal certification date.
